the Mansion

The Guest-house "le Clos de la Croix",
an historic residence of charm

We welcome you in an old "private mansion" of the 18th century (1752). Many in the 17th & 18th century, in Bayeux, these bourgeois houses sheltered the nobility and the bourgeoisie which prospered.

This charming residence has been able to travel  through the centuries retaining its authenticity and its period features: wood paneling, mirors, parquet floors, marble or stone fireplaces, stone staircase and wrought iron railing, trumeaux, alcoves, stone floors, etc. ...

Behind a medevial gate, and closed high walls, the mansion is quiet and invites you to go back in time. After crossing the porch, you will enter a paved courtyard. You will access the rooms via an 18th century stone staircase, with its wrought iron railing.
On the ground floor, the breakfast room, decorated in a Napoleon III style, with its cabinet of curiosities, will allow you to have lunch enjoying the direct view of the courtyard and its garden.
On the first floor you can relax in the music lounge.
Closed by high walls, "le Clos de la Croix" has a planted park, roses, lime trees, wisteria, magnolia, palm tree (from the last World Fair in Paris).
Different rooms of greenery will bring you calm and discretion, with views of the cathedral or the church of St Laurent.

Adjoining to the garden, free public parking is available. We also provide our cycling friends with a bicycle garage.
